If you have children, but don’t have or can’t afford a safe place for them to stay while you are at work, going to school, or looking for a job, there are programs that can help. The Texas Workforce Commission’s Child Care Services program helps eligible families with the cost of childcare. Your local Texas Workforce Solutions office can tell you if you are eligible for these benefits. Youth currently in foster care and young adults formerly in foster care are a priority to receive childcare assistance. This means you should be placed at the top of the list to get benefits when there is a waiting list. Your transition support case manager and transition center staff can help you establish if you are a priority for services.
